What does it mean to be a peacemaker in a world where division, misunderstanding and conflict can seem so present?

This Day of Reflection takes inspiration from the remarkable encounter between St Francis of Assisi and Sultan al-Malik al-Kamil. Their meeting offers us a powerful starting point for exploring the Franciscan approach to dialogue, respect and encountering those who may be different from ourselves.

During the day, there will be opportunities for reflection, prayer and personal quiet as we consider peace not simply as the absence of conflict, but as something we are each invited to nurture through the way we listen, speak, forgive and relate to others.

We will reflect on how we might become instruments of peace within our own relationships, communities and everyday lives.

Everyone is welcome, and no previous retreat experience is necessary.
